Hi!!
Today I did my last practice!!! I´m so happy because I got a very good grade
and because I finished it!!!
Let
me tell you that I was as nervous as the first time but when I entered to the
classroom my nerves disappeared!!!
I
started with a common activity as warm up; whispering. There were just 5
students so I divided the class in two parts. I gave to the last students a
piece of paper with 4 sentences written on it. They had to read them one by one
to the next student who had to write them on the board. The couple or trio that
finished first was the winner. Then, I checked the sentences and they were ok.
The sentences introduced the topic “should/
shouldn´t and must/musn´t.”
The
next activity was a reading from the book and as an introduction I asked a girl
and a boy to stand up and come to the front. I told them: “they are couple, they are having a romantic relationship but they want
to have a more formal relation so the boy is going to have his first meeting
with the girl´s parents. They want you (the rest of the students) to give him
some pieces of advice.” The students started giving pieces of advice; some
of them did it using should like as in
the sentences from the previous activity.
After
that, I asked them to go to page 72 from their books and I read some paragraphs
about “meet the parents.” Then, I
asked them to read alone. I wrote some phrases on the board and they had to match
them with the correct paragraphs. I checked by asking them to read it. I also
asked for new vocabulary and also, I corrected the pronunciation of some words.
I
continued with the grammar part. I liked it because I prepared it the way I got
it and it worked very well. I gave real examples and made the students to give
their own pieces of advice so that help them to understand it. Then, I asked
them to go back to the reading and find out some examples per each part of the
grammar I explained “should/ shouldn´t
and must/musn´t.”
And
the last activity was a matching exercise from the book.
My
feedback was very good! My tutor told to me “congratulations I liked the way you made them participate and the way
you explained the grammar part.”
In
this cycle I learned many things in my practices but I really liked the last
period because I took it as a bet to myself!! Since some of you had said that
working with this tutor was kind of difficult I bet myself not to give up
before knowing the way she evaluates! And thanks God I did it!! I didn´t get
the greatest grades but they are very good for me especially because those
practices were meaningful to me since I paid a lot of attention to each
feedback in order to overcome my mistakes.
I
feel proud of myself because I already finished my practices and with that I
grow up as teacher and as person!!
