Hi again jeje
Almost the last time of teaching, yeah!!!!!!!!
Oops, sorry for my expression!! I should say OH NO! IT´´S ALMOST THE LAST TIME :( JEJE
First than all on Monday around 6:20 p.m I got the
lesson plan because the teacher had not got it yet, so it was hard being
thinking in what I would teach next morning! The worst thing was that I couldn´t
sleep even I did not prepared to many activities but I couldn´t sleep because I
was afraid of teaching GRAMMAR!!!111 OMG I didn´t know how to do it! I guess
everybody is afraid of teaching grammar but believe me my fear was worst than
yours jajaja
I looked for games and other activities to explain the
grammar but I could not find how to do it :´(
I taught in the second hour because the students had
to make a presentation. As always I started with a warm up. It was the same
from the lesson plan but I just changed some points to make it more interested
and funny. And, effectively the students really enjoyed it. Also the teacher
told me it was really nice because it was a game with colors and at same time
the students were remembering things they had been studying…
Then I continued with the presentation; it was a chart
about shopping survey. The students stood up and ask questions to their
classmates. The observation in this activity was that I should read first the
questions for them, so they could familiarize with the activity and ask for new
vocabulary.
The part that I didn´t like the way I taught is
GRAMMAR :(
How awful I did it…well I felt it like that but the teacher just told me one
observation about it; I said we PLURALIZE VERBS!! Imagine!!! I is not an excuse
but I guess that lesson plan had too much grammar notes jejeje and my tutor did
not tell me if I should go deep on it or just a review!! So I wanted to cover
each point from the lesson plan. Also I did not like that this time I did not
have my 50 minutes to teach because the teacher stopped me and she continued
because of the time and because she has to cover that lesson plan this week and
it is too long, she said.
Something to do it better; well, I guess find out what
the students already know about the grammar I have to teach. Because when the
teacher continued with the grammar she did it quickly, she covered just some
points and the students understood, so that means they had previous knowledge
about it.
For the objectives I could star just one; to talk
about shopping… Teenagers like those topics so they looked interested on it and
participated.
Materials: one bigger dice with some categories
(family, professions, countries, etc) pasted in each side and one smaller (with
numbers in each side), photocopies about “shopping survey”, board, markers and
eraser. They used a 90 % of English during the whole class. I think they like
English class because they try really hard to talk in English..
This time, my directions were clearer because the
students did not ask again for what they had to do :). But I do not know my grade yet :(
