Hello everybody, today I did my First practice and I was
frightened because that tutor has given some bad grades to some of you and I
even didn´t want to go but anyway I had to!!! However and thanks God it was
not so bad; pretty good feedback and pretty good grade!!!
I started the class at 9:15 a.m! Why? Because of my tutor
tardiness; I understand they have to run from one classroom to other however, I
guess, it was too much time.
As soon as she arrived
I started with the warm up in which the class was divided into two groups and
each group had a leader. The leaders had to take a picture abut some facts (for
example; a little kid crying) and give clues orally to their groups. The rest
of the group had to guess the correct sentence that was at the back of each
picture. They had to use the present perfect. It was a nice activity; since the
students were trying to join the words to make a sentence and at the same time they were
trying to communicate their thoughts.
Then, I continue with
the practices I was assigned to do; only I have… was the name of this activity.
I gave a piece of color paper to the students and asked them to write something
they have done but they think nobody else has done. Then, they stood up and
asked questions to others in order to find out if someone else has done what they
have done. I played some music at the background to motivate them to work and
it worked very well. When they finished they shared what they found out.
The next activity was find
someone who; it was like the previous one however they have to become
interested in what their classmates were saying by asking them questions in
order to find out more information about the fact. For example; find someone
who has almost died… why? When? What happened? How did you feel? Etc. It was
really nice because I could notice they were really interested on knowing more
about their classmates´ lives. They were
talking about it so I took advantage of that to write on the board some
meanings of some new words for them. Also my tutor took advantage of it because
she called me to give me the feedback since it was the last activity I was
going to do, although I didn´t have my 50 minutes!!! I finished my class at
9:50 a.m
My Tutor told me that I did a good monitor class and
I showed a good level of confidence!! I had some pronuntiation and
grammar mistakes! :(
